Creativity has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I love the curiosity and challenge of figuring out how to bring an idea to life followed by the sense of fulfillment that accompanies a successfully completed project. Most of all, I love the peace that permeates my mind as I focus on the craft at hand and the pure joy of combining various materials or words together to capture a heartfelt story or sentimental work of art.

Shortly after college, I took a leap and relocated to Birmingham, Alabama, to work in magazine publishing for the luxury lifestyle industry—writing about tablescapes, artisans, home tours, gardens, and so much more. It was there I discovered a love for writing about the creativity of others and sharing the stories behind designs. As artists we all put a little bit of ourselves into everything we create.

Northwest, Tennessee, will always be my home, and, in 2022, I made the move back to the place I love the most. My favorite thing about small town life is the community—you know almost everyone and a lot of times the story behind their business. I take heart in knowing that when I shop local, I’m supporting both them and my community. I can’t help but wonder how Amazon-focused influencing is and will continue to hurt small and local businesses. I want to build a space that highlights the creativity of small business owners and fellow artists, encouraging others to pursue quality over quantity and to support local over large global corporations.

Partnering with small businesses, I also offer affordable freelance services such as writing, pr, marketing, editing, and social media content creation. These aspects of business can easily feel like an overwhelming burden to those already wearing many hats. In turn, this will allow me to self-fund my dream of becoming a published author. I’m already working on my first novel—a cozy mystery set in small town Tennessee—that will tie in beautifully with the Sweet Holly Creates brand.
