Creativity has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I love the curiosity and challenge of figuring out how to bring an idea to life followed by the sense of fulfillment that accompanies a successfully completed project. Most of all, I love the peace that permeates my mind as I focus on the craft at hand and the pure joy of combining various materials or words together to capture a heartfelt story or sentimental work of art.

Shortly after college, I took a leap and relocated to Birmingham, Alabama, to work in magazine publishing for the luxury lifestyle industry—writing about tablescapes, artisans, home tours, gardens, and so much more. It was there I discovered a love for writing about the creativity of others and sharing the stories behind designs. As artists we all put a little bit of ourselves into everything we create.

Northwest, Tennessee, will always be my home, and, in 2022, I made the move back to the place I love the most. Now, I work for my college alma mater and write freelance. My favorite thing about small town life is the community—and I hope SHC can become a digital community for you!
